Natural ageing is responsible for the decrease in the production of collagen and elastin. This means your hands start to lose fat and elasticity and your skin loses volume. This can cause translucent skin that wrinkles and develops age spots more easily. Your hands can also develop a thin, skeletal and dry appearance because of this reduction in fat.
What Are Ageing Hands?
Most women start to notice their hands ageing around their 40s, however, the signs of ageing skin can start to appear much younger if you were out in the sun without sunscreen often.
What Causes Hands to Age?
Age spots, also called liver spots or solar lentigines, happen after exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light and can be various shades of brown or black. They appear in the areas most exposed to the sun, when melanin is abundant because of sun exposure.

Laser Treatment
Laser treatment can be used to remove pigmentation spots caused by sun damage and age spots.
How Long to See Results?
The results will depend on each patient and the severity of the pigmentation. This will be discussed in full at the initial consultation.
